Premium Ingredients
Name: Frangula purshiana (Cascara)
Description: Frangula purshiana bark is commonly known as “Cascara sagrada”, “sacred bark” or just
“Cascara”. Cascara is the dried bark of Cascara trees which are found in North Western America.
The bark was used by Native American Indians as a natural herbal laxative.
Caruso’s Cascara contains an active ingredient called cascaroside A. This active ingredient stimulates the colon and gently encourages the movement of waste along the bowel allowing for easier defecation.
Cascara bark induces the large intestine to increase its muscular contractions (peristalsis), causing a bowel movement.
Cascara also has a bitter action which may aid digestion and relieve bloating and/or flatulence. Cascara assists with softening the stool so it may be used for relieving constipation in people with haemorrhoids.
